If you haven’t had a chance to contribute your voice to the project we open simultaneously in six countries: Italy, France, Holland, Germany, Brazil, and the USA this April 7th. Students seem to be the most creative at this point and we have an overwhelming majority from the US with Australia a close second. Is your country represented? I made a new video showing a tease of what the visitors experience is withholding a few surprises for the opening. I contacted William Powhida about adding the project to his #class extravaganza. If your in NYC and went to the Whitney instead of this, shame on you. Here’s a chance to make your voice heard in new media art throughout the world.

Vagina Monologues Benefit and call for Crafts

Filed under: Events, Opportunities — Peter Ferko @ 10:54 am

To whom it may concern,

I am this year’s producer of the Columbia Medical Center’s performance of the Vagina Monologues. This production is an important fundraising event in the community of Washington Heights where we donate all of our profits to the local non-profit organization, Project FAITH of Alianza Dominicana.

In the past, a very successful way to fundraise has been by silent auction of jewelry pieces and gift certificates. In contacting your organization, I  wanted to see if any local artists are interested in donating their work for this event. It is a great opportunity for them to get publicity at the same time. In addition, if any of your artists are interested in attending the event, I have included the poster and listed the information below.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Brie Falkard

The Geborgen kamers (secured rooms) is an exhibition space situated in Transvaal, The Hague – the Netherlands, a neighbourhood that is going through severe changes; condemned building are being torn down, people are being asked to move, and new buildings are being built. To ensure a smooth transition from the old situation to the demolition and the building up/new population, the city of The Hague in co working with social/cultural organizations entrusted the area to artists. The artists use the old buildings for living and working space and often get involved with the workshops of the community arts organizations. A few art initiatives found the ground to develop their projects in own space. One of them is the Gaidaro, with their geborgen kamers project.
