Artists Unite is an archival encyclopedia serving the multicultural artist community of Washington Heights, New York, and the wider Latin American, Caribbean, and African diaspora traditions it participates in.

Our Mission

We aggregate open, verified museum and music-archive data into a free discovery tool — so that the historical presence of Latin American, Caribbean, and other multicultural artists in major institutional collections becomes legible and searchable.

What the archive does

Every entity page — artist, nationality, medium, or music genre — aggregates facts drawn from primary-source catalogues: object counts, medium breakdowns, date ranges, and nationality distributions. We never guess; if the source is silent, so are we.

Editorial independence

The archive is maintained independently. Data providers are credited but not paid — see the Methodology page for the full list.
