Mittimus is the free-improv duo of guitarist Matt Sekel and bassist/drummer Mike Yarrish. They use the language of metal to play free jazz, or perhaps vice versa. They have been lucky enough to regularly augment their core lineup with musicians as diverse as Nix Pickler, Gene Moore, David Gervasi, Barry Chabala, Glenn Weyant, and many others. Additional instruments such as percussion, keyboards, microcassette recorders and misappropriated household items are used and abused to achieve the desired results. All recordings are 100% live.
